This year, during their club visits, the DG and his team will present Spark Plug Awards, selected by the clubs and given to Lions for new and innovative ideas.

BURKE Lion Steve Pawlow — BURKE -- Lion Steve Pawlow, pictured with Club President Don Bradley, for his support to local health fair programs and partnering with the Korean community.

Dolores Spencer — MOUNT VERNON EVENING -- Lion Dolores Spencer for her support to Koinonia Community Services and the back-to-school programs providing supplies to young students.

Lion Curtis Sorensen — REMINGTON -- Lion Curtis Sorensen for his outstanding service helping organize the highly successful Vintage Car Show and faithfully maintaining the club house and grounds. Lion President Tracy Yates accepted the award on his behalf.

PARK WEST -- Lion Bina Martin-Giles for her innovation, enthusiasm, and outstanding service as Club Secretary.

Lion Shawn Gregorie — ALEXANDRIA HOST -- Lion Shawn Gregorie for his innovative work with the club's social media resources. Lion Shawn is pictured with Club President David Rosenblum (left).

Lion Dev Upadhya — RESTON -- Lion Dev Upadhya for his support of vision and youth programs and for taking on the important role of Club Secretary. Presented by Club President Davida Luehrs.

Lion Lynn Garver — CULPEPER MID-DAY -- Lion Lynn Garver for her work on BINGO, the Club’s major fundraising event, serving as Club Secretary, and serving the District on LOVF, Leo Liaison, and USA Canada Forum. Award Presented by Club President Oliver Price.

SPRINGFIELD FRANCONIA --Lion Emma Clarito for supporting the Flea Market, the Club’s major fundraiser, and for always being available to serve. Award presented by Club Acting President Minerva Banga.

MIDDLEBURG Lion Ben Barton — MIDDLEBURG - Lion Ben Barton, Club President, for supporting the American Legion Boys and Girls State Leadership Programs.

Lion Chinnah Orendain — SPRINGFIELD GLOBAL -- Lion Chinnah Orendain for her outstanding leadership in coordinating donations for a medical facility in the Philippines.

Brandi Bowles — AQUIA HARBOUR HOST -- Lion Brandi Bowles for her fundraising skill with their “Dining in the Dark” Event.

Lion Marie Garney — GREATER FALLS RUN -- Lion Marie Garney for her leadership as Club Secretary and her dedication to the club and the community.

Lion Len Bors — ALEXANDRIA ASIAN-AMERICAN -- Lion Len Bors for putting a spark into the club’s picnic with her innovative and fun games. Her creativity and enthusiasm made the event a memorable one, with plenty of fun and laughter shared by all!

Rachel Edmonds — STAFFORD COUNTY -- Lion Rachel Edmonds for her creative and innovative service ideas.

Lion Val Smith — STAUNTON -- Lion Val Smith for outstanding leadership in coordinating a successful toy drive in partnership with the Salvation Army.

Lion Skip McMullan — CLIFTON FORGE -- Lion Skip McMullan for leading the club's October home-made ice cream sales at the town's Art Festival.

Lion Phil Eaton — CROZET -- Lion Phil Eaton for initiating a partnership with the Sentara Foundation, organizing vision screening (with a surprising number of referrals) at the Back to School Bash.

Lioness Sandy Brown — WINCHESTER LION LIONESS -- Lioness Sandy Brown for her support in collecting supplies for students as well as supporting local projects for the homeless and low income families. Presented by Club President Sadie Nelson.

Lion Phil Sandridge — WAYNESBORO -- Lion Phil Sandridge for his skill at the Chicken BBQ Pit.

Lion Sheryl Sinche — AQUIA EVENING -- Lion Sheryl Sinche for bringing tremendous enthusiasm, creativity, and innovative ideas to the club as the members begin planning their upcoming service projects and fundraising activities.
