Lions Always Answer the Call

Since 1968, LCIF has been there when disaster strikes, when hunger growls, when vision disappears, when sounds become quiet, and when cancer makes a presence in our children’s lives. These are just a few of the many unfortunate circumstances that communities and families face sometime during their lives. As Lions, with the help of LCIF, we are there to help.
Since 1968, 22,000 grants have been awarded. $167 million has been given for disaster relief. 9.7 million cataract surgeries have been performed. Clean water sources have been developed. Stomachs have been filled and trees have been planted.
A lot has happened since 1917, but one thing hasn’t changed – the service, dedication, and leadership of Lions in our communities. With the help of LCIF our impact can go so much further. There are 1.4 million Lions in 48,000 clubs in 200+ countries, who can respond quickly to unique challenges facing local communities where Lions call home and thrive.
Lions live and work in the communities they serve. We know how to encourage, serve and advocate for neighbors in need. LCIF is there providing us with funds to increase our impact to serve those that are suffering.
Last year, Lions around the world contributed over $81 million to LCIF, enabling service to over 19 million people.
Thanks to individuals and clubs in our District, we contributed over $118,000 to LCIF last year. These funds, along with funds from other clubs around the world, allow LCIF and Lions to continue to help those in need.
In the months ahead, we will look at some of these grants both in the states and globally. Remember that Lions are serving 365 days a year, 24 hours a day, every second of every minute, one person at a time, even when we are sleeping.
Your support goes a long way. You are touching someone’s life while they are having a difficult time. You may never hear a thank you but be assured these individuals are grateful for your contributions to LCIF.
