History:

Each year the American Veterans Center organizes the National Memorial Day Parade in Washington, DC. The Lions Clubs of Delaware, the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia have a longstanding tradition of participating in the parade to honor the nation's military heroes. As part of their involvement, these clubs have served as Three-Star Sponsors, contributing a float to the parade. Lions march along Constitution Avenue, proudly displaying their club banners and demonstrating their commitment to community service and patriotism.

In 2023, Lions International President Brian Sheehan and his wife, Lion Lori Sheehan, joined the parade, riding on the Lions' float alongside distinguished veteran Lions who continue to serve their communities.
